Eating our way through the fair

Today at the State Fair we ate corn dogs, mini-donuts, tacos, cheeseburgers, fries, coffee, and cookies. I had a beer. Julie had a root beer. I might eat again tomorrow, and I might not.

It was cold and windy, but if your toddler isn't complaining, then neither should you.

Julie took Lyla on the Monkey Maze in the midway.

At the end of it was a steep, curvy slide, which Lyla loved.

And by "loved" I mean hated.

More successful was an exhibit called Little Farmhands, where little kids get to be farmers and do things like scoop grain, ride tractors, gather eggs, and squeeze teats. Well, Lyla declined to participate in that part.

Cousin Ava was there to help.

And of course, as I mentioned above, we ate cookies.

Tomorrow Julie and I are driving to Madison for a wedding, and Lyla's spending the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa. The rest of the cookie bucket is going with Julie and me--much to the chagrin of Lyla, I'm sure.
