Cramming
Lyla now knows that A is for Ava, L is for Lori in addition to Lyla, S is for Scott, E is for elephant, J is for Jodie, Jen, and Jason, and M is for Matt (and, of course, Mama).
In other news, Julie passed her second gestational diabetes test. After she fasted and drank the gross orange goo, they drew four vials of blood over a three hour period, so now she has the telltale track marks of a heroin addict.
The nurse did tell her to watch her sugar; apparently she came close.
So let's review this whole experience with gestational diabetes testing and see how Julie's behavior compares to an underachieving high school student.
- Little to no preparation for the first test
- Terrible score on the first test
- Generous offer to retake the test a week later
- Some preparation the week leading up to the retest (eating less candy, etc.) and serious preparation the night before (only half a cupcake)
- Minimal score on the retest, just enough to meet the objective
- Heroin-like track marks on the arms
Just kidding about the last one.
We're both happy that Julie won't have to cram for any more tests; the only cramming will involve food and her face.
