Ending the day with a gigantic pickle

Lyla insisted on eating breakfast with her baby.

I think she's nesting.

Julie showed a woman at work this next picture and pointed out that I had done Lyla's hair.

"It's cute that he tried," she replied.

Note Lyla's new shoes, up a size since her toes were at the end of her old ones. Julie claimed that the new ones were too big. They're clompy, yes, but what are you going to do? The daycare teachers wrote this on Lyla's daily report: "Kind of klutzy today, kept tripping over herself." I do admit that, despite all evidence to the contrary, I still think I'm right.

Tonight was a special event at daycare. They had animals (goats, ducks, bunnies), a bouncy tent, and food you might eat at the fair.

Here's the bouncy castle:

Most significant to Lyla, however, was the big kid play area, which she only gets to look at and dream about every day while she plays in the little kid area. She essentially ran away from the animals and made a beeline for the play stuff.

Then we went inside and sat on tiny chairs around and tiny table. It was like someone slipped us a pill from Alice in Wonderland.

That massive object Lyla is cramming in her mouth is a pickle, by the way. She's taking this pregnancy very seriously.
