Guilty about the boots
That hair is what happens when you have a side ponytail all day long. Girls are so complicated.
Lyla's locker in the toddler room is stuffed with extra clothes, snow pants, and enormous purple snow boots from eBay. We felt a little guilty about the boots: she never even tried them on.
When I picked her up today, one of the toddler teachers told me that they did in fact go outside. "Ah, excellent," I said, trying to convey with the tone of my voice that playing outside in snow boots is a regular part of Lyla's routine.
"She wasn't too crazy about walking on the snow."
I said "Hmm" and raised my eyebrows to show that I was surprised that Lyla didn't squeal merrily and clomp all around in the winter wonderland.
The teacher continued: "So I held her hand and walked with her around the outer path. She seemed to get used to her boots by the end."
Busted.
