Dangerously close to a mullet

Julie had a fancy lotion she wanted from the Galleria, so I took Lyla, and we spent a couple post-lotion hours goofing around in Creative Kidstuff and, in the above photo, Pottery Barn Kids. That's a $149 playhouse, incidentally, that Lyla will not be getting. (Don't you dare, Grandmas.)

In that photo you'll notice a nice scratch on Lyla's forehead. Early this morning, she drunkenly sprinted to Tulip's cage, tripped, and hit the cage's latch. Crying ensued. Ice was applied, Motrin given. Now when Lyla's sleeping she looks like a baby mannequin at a mannequin scratch-and-dent sale.

In other forehead-related news, Julie trimmed Lyla's bangs. No, we did not keep a lock of hair for the scrapbook. That's creepy. But now Lyla's hair is dangerously close to a mullet.

Which is okay. The 1980s are back, and Lyla is a baby Pat Benatar.
